Best Location: Directly at the beach and near to very good restaurants. Breakfast was good. The rooftop-bar was amazing

Room with bathroom was spacious. WiFi and location was very good, we also felt really safe. Close to the beach.
The rooftop is rather small and the breakfast options could use an update, every morning the quality of the food was different.

I was a bit worried about various negative reviews, but on the opposite, my stay exceeded all expectations! It was my first experience staying in the Selina branch. The staff at the reception was very helpful and friendly, they do have a lot of people coming and going all the time, so just be patient for your turn. The room and toilets were clean, the bed was comfy and the bedsheets are white and crispy! I havent explored common areas much, but the kitchen is equipped well enough to cook smth if one likes.
As mentioned by many the service at the cafe during the breakfast needs an improvement. From what Ive noticed not many waiters speak English so they get shy or nervous to approach you to write and order. Which is just three options, great ones but could be boring for a long stay. It took about 5-15 min for me to receive my breakfast if I came at 7:15 -7:30 am.

The location is perfect, near copacabana beach and just a stones throw away from the major attractions in Rio de Janeiro such as the Sugarloaf Mountain, Christ the Redeemer. The best base when you are in Rio.
When I booked this property, I was prompted through chat that I should download the Selina app and complete check-in to which I did. In the app, they offered a discounted breakfast option (which I availed through the app) and booked a tour around Rio. Guess what? Nothing from these requests were fulfilled.
Breakfast - headed down expecting that Ill have breakfast, apparently it didnt go through. At least they couldve offered me breakfast (which Ill gladly pay) but I was just told that Im not on the list and the lady turned her back.
Rio Tour through the app - when I checked in, I was assured that it has been taken cared of and Ill be picked up at 8AM. Apparently that wasnt the case, nothing was booked and they cannot do anything about it.
Lesson learned: Selina app does NOT work.
They are also unresponsive through WhatsApp.
The place (and marketing) is nice but unfortunately thats about it.

Location is great, commun spaces are okay.
Not super clean.
Our room was smelly. It was like a dump odour coming from the toilet and staying forever.
The kitchen is really due for improvement and please make an effort to offer drinkable water.
Not the best Selina Ive been. Not a lot of things happening and I felt it was disorganized.

The location is great and safe. Easy access to beach and grocery as well as restaurants. Staff are super nice and helpful.
The pillow is very old with stain and smell on it. The kitchen is dirty and I dont feel safe to cook there. May need a bigger water filter in the kitchen.
