The breakfast was nice. Lots of variety, fruit, yogurt, cakes, bread, etc. They made eggs also. The view was fabulous. Really enjoyed that. The location is great, in a few walking minutes you can go to the cable cart to the Sugar loaf mountain. Very safe to walk around, also at night. Andreas is a great host. He will answer all your questions.
I think renovation could make this place better. Everything is very old. It is still good, but it's like walking into my grandma's house. For a tourist place I think it can be better if the floor and bathrooms at least get renewed.

What a great little hotel in a great location! The breakfast is a dream and is only surpassed by the view you have from the terrace. We had a fantastic stay, everything was to our complete satisfaction and when we spontaneously had to stay a few days longer, everything was uncomplicated. The hotelier and the staff are so nice that it feels like you're staying with family. All in all, an absolute recommendation for anyone who wants to have a great time in Rio and stay in one of the safest and most beautiful areas in Rio.

Breakfast was amazing, hotel was charming, staff was wonderful. Loved the location, rooftop view, and little pool (my girls had a lot of fun in it).
One of our rooms was lacking hand soap and the water pressure in one of the sinks wasn’t great. WiFi struggled. But those things were small compared to the charm, breakfast, and location of the hotel!

Andreas was a brilliant host. Friendly, really helpful and had lots of great advice about what to do in Urca. The breakfasts were superb on an amazing terrace with views of Christ the Redeemer. The location, with military police right outside, felt very safe. A 25 minute walk to Copacabana or a few minutes by cab.

Breakfast is extraordinary ! Fresh, delicious, and homemade. Large variety of breads and cakes, fruit, coffee, juices, and various spreads. Would pay just for the breakfast alone.

The room needs some renovation. It was very hot in Rio and sometimes the room was uncomfortable.

Wow!! Excellent experience staying at Urca Guest House. Highly recommend it! From very first communication received from Rafaela up until very last minute of our stay we received the best personal service and we felt like royalty! Perfect location, great room with the best view one can ask for. Amazing breakfast and pool. Thank you very much to Andreas and Rafaela making our first visit unforgettable. We can't wait to see you again.

Very friendly and welcoming. A home from home. The terrace was an excellent place to have a drink and look at Christ the Redeemer. Very safe area. Excellent cafe next door and an easy walk to the sugarloaf mountain cable car.
The only problem was the sound of running water during the night. This only bothered us on the last night and it had been raining so might have been something to do with that.
