One of the best hostels Ive ever stayed in. The location is great, really close to the beach. The environment is amazing, they plan activities and free tours every day.

The location is amazing (safe and close from metro and beach), the kitchen is well equipped
Overcharging x4/5 times for any activities that are really not worth the prices. When a place charges that much per night were expecting to have nice and professional staff instead of disrespectful, unmotivated and really not aware that no means NO working force.
In +1 year of travel I never lost that many stuffs in my room.
Cleaning the bathroom between 8-9AM and 4-4PM or closing the kitchen between 11-12h isnt the smartest since thats the peak hours for these places

The hostel is in a great location, just a couple blocks from Copacabana! The hostel was very clean and had a great energy! I would 100% recommend!

I loved everything about Pura Vida...they had everything! I love the breakfasts and the meals they provide throughout the day for a fee. They have a bar that I really love, its a good spot to meet other travelers and have a good time drinking with them! I had some good times! I love the tours and activities they provide for guests. I was able to explore Rio because of that. The staff here are very nice and helpful with everything. I met the owners Felipe and Dalton and they were very nice guys. Overall I enjoyed my time here and wished I could stay longer. Ive created some good memories here.
this is just a suggestion, but wished they had laundry machines here! It would be so more convenient rather trying to find a laundry place to do laundry.

Great social hostel with lots of activities. There is a group whatsapp which lets you know what is happening. They have workshops like caiprinha making and dancing (often the second follows after the first). Great staff also!
The bathrooms were not really nice and clean. I would not expect top notch quality but could still be better. What is really weird is that the communal restroom at the men side have see through doors.

I love the location, just 5 min walk to Copacabana and about 15 min walk to Ipanema! The property has a lot of common areas for hanging out with other guests which is a perfect opportunity to get to know new people. Its much cleaner than most hostels, I saw staff cleaning several times a day! Private rooms are fresh and perfect size, well-functioning air conditioner :) staff are very friendly!!!
Honestly there was nothing I did not enjoy about Pura Vida. But its a few stairs you have to walk, but thats also the reason to why the view is so nice :)

Location, the staff were friendly, something to do every day.
The bunk beds, the top one is way too high, and the bar is not on the same side of the stairs which means you can't hold on to it to go up and down, and you have to make your bed which would be fine if you could hold on to something...
There is no shelf so if you want to charge you stuff it might fall down and break since it is high.
The fans were really dusty.

I had a great time at Pura Vida. There were tons of fun things to do, and I met lots of cool people. The vibe was really goodit's a party hostel, but you can also find quiet moments if you need them. I'd totally recommend it to anyone looking for a fun place to stay.

They sell a lot of tours like: Football match in Maracan, Christ the Redeemer and Sugar Loaf. You can buy at reception or by whatsapp.
The staff is always very helpful, they have a good breakfast, the room was clean and comfortable.
