The Hotel is located in the center of Beijing, in the Hutong classical streets. The staff is friendly and speaks English. I recommend it to foreigners staying in Beijing.

I was alone in a family number - it was spacious enough for one person. That's it. I didn't like anything more.
Everything was under my expectation and nothing in common with positive feedback from other guests here on Booking. I was travelling for a while in China and I knew how it was important and valuable to have English speaking staff. It was the main reason to book that hotel - it was claimed personnel spoke English. Not at all! It was some one person who replied on my messages but nobody spoke English at the reception. I spent 2 hours to get assistance for 2 places booking. The location is relatively close but about 3-4 km away from the center - and it's a very specific location with a narrow dark very specific street with awful smell and not friendly at all. I was scared every time walking there. The view from my room was just on the other buildings walls and roofs. No feeling you were in center of the capital city. The awful part was breakfast. I had never experienced such a poor breakfast in my life. The price for that hotel was more than competitive to other really nice places in the same center location. The first day it was some scrambled eggs, 3 triangles of toast bread, one piece of jam and butter, 4 pieces of some grass salad and half of a glass of plant milk. That's it. Ok, I thought tomorrow could be better. Tomorrow I had just bread and grass. I complained - and got the reply they don't have food at the hotel (where I pay a competitive price for having normal breakfast). I complained to booking. Nothing changed significantly. They just added some scrambled eggs to my plate but forgot about milk. I stayed 6 nights and I never had any other options, no vegetables, no fruits, no juice or even tea in China for breakfast in the hotel in the center of Beijing with the same price as Mercury hotel. The other negative thing is that all my towels were changed every day, but had holes! There were no elevator and they had 3 floors.

Situated in Beijing's stunning courtyard, it really is the heart of the Forbidden City; Hotel in the pure Chinese style decoration at the same time, without losing the modern convenience, comfort is very strong; The hotel has a sky terrace garden, overlooking the scenery of old Beijing, the hotel has convenient transportation, the surrounding food and drink is particularly convenient; Ten minutes away from the Palace Museum, Tiananmen Square.
