Upgraded to suite so plenty of space. Good location bit uphill from "kolonada".
Spa is just cold swimming pool (can't swim anyway as its small and no lane), 1x hot bath tub, 2x sauna. Did not order massage or treatment. Room needs a refurbishment.

Great location — just a short walk up the hill to give a degree of separation from the intensity of the river walk, but only 5 minute walk there. Huge room with stunning view, soft sheets, comfortable beds, good breakfast buffet, and towel warmers!
Staff struggled with English (significantly) and even with German, so the burden was entirely on me to communicate. As a result, I got no clear answer about how to even get a simple facial from their menu of spa services. They also gave zero assistance in helping me find an appointment at another spa in the area. At this point, I have no idea how I’d go about getting an appointment with one of their doctors for true medical or cosmetic procedures. (They lose tremendous amount of revenue as a result, I presume.)
Hallways have weak fluorescent lighting that is motion activated at night, lending a creepy feeling and just dark hallways.
The massive complex of underground tunnels is confusing, and the egg hot tub in the pool area is like warm, not hot.

The building which seems historic and spacious. The view from the window of your room. Not much more though...
Well, there is so much to mention and i will mention just a few turn offs for this property. Firstly, the rooms are very dated, the bathrooms especially. The breakfast is very poor and seems to lack anything that a kitchen can offer more than boiled eggs or cheese, meats and veggies sliced. Perhaps the French crepes were a highlight for the entire breakfast experience. Coffee was not drinkable at all. Then the staff - seems that they are capable to satisfy the need of only Uzbek people who were the main guests during the entire stay. The staff just did not care at all. These are not the only unsatisfactory things about this hotel, but seems pointless to mention all as this is a particular family run property which serves mainly the Uzbek and muslim clientele which perhaps have different needs than European ones. But this is not highlighted in the hotel description. I wish I knew that before I booked. I really regret that I have chosen this hotel.

Beautiful old building.
The hotel is old and in need of renovation. The fridge was not working, and there were no coffee or tea facilities in the room. Breakfast was poor. This is definitely not a 4-star hotel. Low value for money they ask.

Location was excellent. We enjoyed the restaurant and bar.
The rooms were quite modest. We were expecting a little more luxury feel. The tub shower did not feel safe and the shower curtains were inadequate. Not enough fruit offered at breakfast and the was inferior.

Nice facilities, excellent breakfast.
The hotel is nice but needs more attention and up keeping. Entrance is not clean, esp. the carpet. Garden needs more attention. Reception staff is highly unprofessional and rude. Eating while there are guests. Talking private among each other's, ignoring guests.
The pool has jets but they are switched on for just few minutes. Saving money?
The hotel had a potential to be top class if managed and supervised properly. Maybe the mainly Russian clientele is less demanding

Exceptionally clean.
Large pool (28C which is great for its size).
Great location.
As majority have mentioned the breakfast is poor. There’s literally nothing tasty. The choice is poor, the taste is mediocre. I believe it’s worst breakfast I’ve had. There’s plenty of space for improvement.
The room is large but doesn’t feel cosy, there’s ridiculously tiny carpet next to the bed. They have only single mattresses, which I didn’t find comfortable. No true double beds ?
The staff tries to solve your issues although I believe the attitude of communication could be more caring/welcoming.
There’s only two types of baths, sauna and Turkish bath. Turkish bath was unsafe as steam goes directly to your legs.
Jacuzzi is outdated (not comfortable to sit).
Unfortunately I cannot recommend the place given the high cost of stay. I had higher expectations.
Unfortunately I realised all the bad reviews only after booking, I can only say they are not without a reason.

A good hotel, with comfortable and spacious rooms. It was good to have spa facilities in the hotel (even if you had to walk through the labyrinth to find them ?) and a gym, with breakfast included. The hotel was up quite a lot of stairs/a steep road, but you got to know shortcuts over the stay. The main issue was some very unfriendly/cold staff, who could do with customer service training (although some of them were much nicer too).

The girl in the bar was friendly
When we arrived, we were told in a very unfriendly way by the parking guard that we were not allowed to park on the premises. That day there was a snow storm and roads covered in fresh snow and ice. Reception staff was also very ignorant when we complained about this and told the only option to park was 1,5 km downhill. I stay in hotels weekly for business, but this was one of my worst experiences.

Location
Stayed at Bristol Palace Hotel and was disappointed. The room felt outdated, with worn-out furniture and poor cleanliness. The staff was unresponsive and not very welcoming. Breakfast was basic and lacked fresh options. For a hotel of this category, I expected much better service and comfort. Wouldn’t stay here again.
