Saw many people (mostly Asian) steal large amounts of food from the breakfast buffet to take with them … shame on them; makes it more expensive for everyone
Lower score as we did not like the bed and pillows. Airco did not work well?? Did have a very bad night of sleep.
Quality of breakfast not great.

It was a fairly standard hotel experience overall — expectations were met, but not exceeded. The views are decent, though not breathtaking, with glimpses of the old town visible on the horizon. I was happy that the hotel honored my request for a higher floor. Connections to the city center are adequate, and the tram stop is conveniently nearby. The bathroom was quite nice and provided shampoo, conditioner (? — there were 3 tubes in any case), shower gel, and liquid soap. 2 mineral water bottles (as a pretty standard welcome gift) was also a nice touch.
No hotel slippers were provided (we didn’t ask since we were checking out so soon). It was a one-night stay, and both keycards stopped working that very evening — we had to get new ones from the reception. I understand this can happen anywhere and isn’t specific to the hotel, but it had never happened to me so quickly before.
Also, although this may sound like childish envy — I’m simply pointing out the oddity — even though I booked and paid for the room, the welcome message mentioned only my companion and not me, despite the booking being clearly under my name.

We had a wonderful stay! The hotel is clean and very comfortable. The room was spacious and well-equipped — ideal for a family with young children. The location is great, with easy access to public transportation. Breakfast was a highlight, with plenty of delicious options for both adults and kids. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made us feel truly welcome throughout our stay.
There was nothing we didn’t like — everything went smoothly and exceeded our expectations.

All the basics were covered. The location is a short walk to the tram and the S-Bahn (though not exactly central or "in" either the old or new city). We used the sauna every day and basically had it to ourselves, which was great.
We had a situation where we were concerned when we came back and found our hotel room open. We went down to the front desk to ask someone to accompany us to check the room because we were two women travelling together and were scared, but for some reason the person at the desk started arguing with us and took a while before accepting to help us, which I thought was strange. Nothing was missing in the room and nothing came out of that, but I was surprised that this person was at first unwilling to help. Outside of this I do have to say that the staff were very friendly and helpful.

It was close to the office. Parking is easy (but not free).
Unlike room 242 on the second floor I stayed in before, 530 on the fifth is very noisy - closer to the lift, making it busier around the door. The box for the fridge doesn't have an external door, so I had to switch it off to make the room quieter, but the worst of all is the noise from the gym on the sixth floor, namely the treadmill. If someone is running on it, it is impossible to focus on anything like watching TV or working on a PC...sleeping is impossible. The gym is open from 10 to 22, making it impossible to use in the morning, and it isn't quiet for the people on the floor below. Also, I don't get the point at all why access to the sauna is for an extra fee. I don't know how much extra money it brings, but I think it should be free for hotel guests. Especially when the room rate is over EUR100,-. I will try to avoid this hotel in the future, unless it costs half of the current rates. There are many better options in Dresden.
