Local friends told us about the history of the hotel which I found fascinating- it used to be reserved for westerners only and also a hot spot for local sex workers who would also serve as spies in days before reunification

Location
You can feel cutting corners on costs in everything from not renewing water bottles in rooms to quality of soaps to everything. Even a late checkout requested for 2pm only instead of 12pm they wanted to charge 50€ or so

I stayed for one night. Nice staff, told and explained everything. Clean room, nice view from the window of the city and most importantly, it is near the train station, very convenient for traveling

Practically everything was great. Super nice hotel, staff very helpful and all very friendly to us. Storage of luggage before check in and on the day of our departure was no problem. Lovely room with a great view.
Only one thing, why I gave it 9 stars and not the otherwise deserved 10 stars: There is no tea or coffee in the room, not even must the kettle to make your own cup for your own tea bags. For British visitors, this is not acceptable. On my visit last year, when it still was a Pullman hotel, it was all there. Even with cookies.
