The room was cosy and the hotel's interior quite beautiful.
Outside noise, for example, street sweeping machine very early in the morning, passing several times at 6h and then other lorries passing by. Maybe the windows should be more noise insulating. Noticed some dirt spots in the room, which I didn't expect in this kind of hotel. Breakfast buffet was nice, but mind you that they start taking it away at 9h50 as you are still having your breakfast, so it makes you feel redundant amidst the personnel going to and fro.
During the check-out the guy at the reception didn't even bother to ask if we had a good stay.

Perfect central location directly on bar road and walking distance everywhere - Old town, parks, malls, river promenade, restaurants, bars
Staff made sure we got breakfast package on our last day at 5am when leaving early morning for a flight
Excellent tasty breakfast, grilled salmon, lots of fresh fruit, luxurious atmosfere
Spa included, very nice design and peaceful wellness area with comfy beds
Free beer and water at minibar in room
Comfy bed!
At the spa the steam room was out of order with no notice

Property is very central and the historical artefacts around the hotel are very interesting. The spa is excellent
The restaurant and bar are joined to but not owned by the hotel. I feel it could do with a relaxing lounge to grasp a light snack and a drink in comfort during the day

Hello! I chose the hotel after reading reviews online and a personal recommendation from friends. I must say that I was not wrong, I chose an amazing, excellent, clean, quiet, romantic hotel in an amazing location, very close to all the attractions in the city. Very close to the river, the restaurant and bar area, to Conissala Street. And in particular, very close to the carnival parade. After many years of staying in dozens of hotels around the world, the Hotel de Medici is one of the best, clean, luxurious, quiet and romantic hotels I have stayed in. Beyond all this, the value for money is excellent. The price is fair and very reasonable for the carnival period. The staff at the amazing hotel is helpful and very kind and polite. I recommend the hotel with all my heart. Thank you and have a wonderful day!

This a very nice hotel. The room was large and comfortable. There was a dressing table (yay!). The only thing was that there was no table and chairs to eat breakfast at together in the room. One of us had to use the desk and the other the dressing table. The room service breakfast was delivered on time and the order was accurate, although the portion-size varied day to day. The food was delicious (all except the coffee!) but it was very expensive. The lobby was open and spacious and I imagine that the terrace in the courtyard would be nice for a drink in the summer. The corridors were very long but there was a lot of art to look at on the way to the room.
We didn't like the coffee - it was like drinking bitter hot water. The breakfast was extortionately expensive. The bar was very small and like having a drink in a corridor, which is odd when the hotel is so large. The restaurant only had a single, unappetising vegetarian option but it was booked out anyway. We had checked out and paid for the next morning's breakfast the night before in order to have a quick getaway in the morning but then when we came to leave the receptionist accused us of not having paid for breakfast, and then when he eventually found that we had he said that we hadn't paid the service charge, and then that took longer for him to find, so it wasn't quick at all. I didn't appreciate the painting of animals being hunted that was in the bedroom - disgusting.

I received a very warm welcome from the doorman and at reception and I was given the key to a beautiful room overlooking the courtyard. It was a quiet stay, yet so close to the Opera, the museums, the old centre and The Rhein. When I’m back in Düsseldorf I will be staying here again. Many thanks.

The building itself is of course amazing, the corridors are very beautiful and full of art and there's a lot to see. The whole atmosphere of the old, special building is great! The staff at the reception is friendly. I was especially happy about the kindness of the young lady, who was originally from Italy - she was both very kind and professional and immediately made me feel comfortable about the stay. The room and the bathroom were big enough and we liked the big shower space very much.
The cleaning staff should be a bit more attentive, while cleaning the rooms: our room had dust rolls on the floor and being allergic, this was not very comfortable. Also, the bed was pretty uncomfortable, for some reason it felt like the bed was very old, it was uneven (felt as if one could feel the spots on which people had slept for decades) and bad for the back. Maybe it would be a good thing to invest in new beds? Without the issue with the bed and the dust I would give 9. Sleep is too important.
