Ivan the night manager gave us a wonderful welcome. Our SatNav had failed, it was dark and he guided us to the hotel over the phone and then by waving a torch beside the road. And it was after his time to lock up. A very kind man.
Most of the old decorations and stuffed animals have gone. In 2011 it still looked like a historic hunting lodge but the current renovations have made it less distinctive.

First of all it was cheap ) We booked the room just several days before our stay and all other available places nearby Erfurt were occupied. And the place is really "worth for money" for the overnight stay. It's nearby Erfurt (around 6 km). There is a free parking. Breakfast is included. There is a restaurant in the hotel.
Definitely the room is only for overnight stay. It is small, there are no additional facilities - like kettle to boil water, etc. Also currently the hotel is undergoing reparations at one of two floors. Also note that the hotel stands near the road and if windows of your room are looking at the road, then it will be noisy...

-Bed setting was not understood from web images. So I wrote to ensure to have availble bed for us. And they change the regular settings by 30% extra cost! Disgusting
- one of room table lamp was out of order, wooden floor was making unusual sounds during walking.
- Toilet hand shower not working, shampoo and soap proved with small one time packet!

A few days ago we were staying in Gasthof Schlos Hubertus. We were ordered a room for 2 adults and 2 children. Since we arrive late on the night there wasn't anybody we could speak with but the room we had was a normal double room with only 2 place's there. Just think what a disturbing situations is to need stay in a quite dirty place without enough place to sleep. In the morning there wasn't anybody who speak english so it was impossible to ask someone about it. We think that it's unacceptable that we needed to pay for room we didn't have. Everything was dirty, uncomfortable, smells bad and the service was also bad.

The staff was amazing and very very sweet. They put on an amazing breakfast spread for us in the morning and I would like to come back here and stay so I could try the restaurant. The restaurant is beautiful inside and has huge rooms to accommodate tons of guests. its in a great location just outside of town and its also easy to get in and out of the area from this location point. It is very close to downtown to downtown Erfurt. There is a fruit vendor salesman that is right across the road selling produce and other items so that was really neat and then theres also an Imbiss truck outside selling wurst and other snack items that you can also grab and go. Parking is open and there seem to be lots of availability. I definitely liked how there was a side entrance I could come and go to walk your pet which was really nice. I felt very comfortable staying there and so did my children.
The restaurant was beautiful to see when you first walk in but the hotel rooms need a refresh. Our TV did not work and they didnt give us the Wi-Fi password even though Wi-Fi was available for use. They also did not have a shower curtain in the bathroom and it was difficult not to get water everywhere when you were getting a shower. The carpets definitely need to be updated and some of the bedroom fixtures are really dated.

Our room was at the top of the house and was extremely quiet, although the window was small we had a view of the forest behind the house. Due to re-opening after COVID lock down we were the only guests so it was quiet. The restaurant menu was, considering they were just coming back after lock down, extensive and extremely good, my commendation to the Chef. The food was excellent as was the Kellerbier :-) Breakfast was not included in the deal, also due to the re-opening, but we were able to get coffees from the very friendly morning staff. Although a few km's outside of Erfurt with a car just 10-15 mins drive and you're in the city center.
The small window in the room was unusual, therefore the view to the forest was a disappointment. Otherwise there was nothing not to like.
