I welcome you to the Hotel Am Schlosspark in Essen- Borbeck since 25 Sept 2009. With the Self Check-In-Terminal (no staff on site) you can check-in anytime (downstairs at the reception) from 1pm, no matter what time, even midnight. Check-out is until 10 am. For self check-in you need your booking number (full information with the code and pictures will be sent to you by email).For further procedures, please follow the information on the terminal display. Important: the payment is possible only with EC or credit card! Please note that cancelation is possible only up to 24 hours before arrival.In case of cancelation in the 24 hours before arrival, the guest will pay an amount equal to the total price. Parking is free of charge and subject to availability. Total 7 parking spaces, 2 in front of the garage and 5 in underground parking. Reservation is not possible. This hotel is a direct streetcar ride from the center of Essen (15 minutes) and a 10-minute walk from Borbeck Castle and Brauhaus DAMPFE. The streetcar is just a few steps away, and the Essen-Borbeck train station is a 2-minute walk away, with many stores and pharmacies in the center of Essen-Borbeck. The highway is only 5-7 minutes drive away. Bicycle route is also just 2 minutes away from hotel.Free welcome drinks, such as water and coffee, are included in the room rate. A rich breakfast buffet is available for an extra charge. All rooms at Hotel Am Schlosspark feature cable TV, free Wi-Fi and electric shutters, a private bathroom with a hairdryer, and free toiletries such as a toothbrush with integrated toothpaste, razor blade, shampoo, and a vanity mirror. A balcony is available in some rooms. In August/September 2023, the bathroom areas were renovated and equipped with new shower stalls. The breakfast room is located in the basement. Breakfast hours: Mon. - Fri. > 7:30 a.m. - 9:30 a.m. Sat. - Sun. and holidays > 8:00 am -10:00 am. Bed and bathroom were nice, it also had a proper desk.
Spot of mold under the desk. Also, I was charged 10 euros a day for breakfast which I thought was free.

There are nicely thought out things like small water, coffee, kettle, toothbrush in the room.
My father's room was downstairs and when we entered the room there was a spider on the ceiling because the window was open and there were no mosquito nets. Mosquito nets and hotel slippers are a must

Booked last minute but room was ready, clean and very good value for money. Clear instructions were sent prior to our arrival on how to access the building and check in. The bathroom was clean and the shower worked well. Breakfast was simple but pleasant. Good location, close to town.

We arrived at the hotel around 22:00 and completed the self check-in as instructed in the email from the hotel. However, upon entering the room, we were met with an unpleasant surprise: everything — the mattress, bed, and mattress pad — was wet. We called the number provided in the email, and the person who answered identified himself as the hotel owner. After explaining the situation, he told us he was in another city, far from Essen, and couldn't do anything. Instead, he suggested we replace the mattress pads with spare ones located in the wardrobe on the lower level. We tried to explain that since the mattress itself was also wet, simply changing the pads wouldn't help. We informed him that we had to leave the hotel and requested a refund, which he refused. Unfortunately, we were left to search for alternative accommodation at that late hour. Incidentally, there was another couple facing the same issue, also trying to reach the owner.

Very nice place near the Essen-Borbeck train station in a quiet neighborhood. They also provided a bottle of water and instant coffee for free.
The Internet speed was slow. The room was initially a little bit cold.

Never ever.Everithik is broken , old and full opf dust. I put my laptop on the table room and the table fall in a parts . I am 49 years old, I did n t dance on that table, I just try to work...... They charge me for that . Owner disrespect, personal the same . I ask a different room because the first one could nt close with the key.
