Really the hotel is great. Location is so wonderful and the views from the room really incredible. The breakfast was very delicious and you can choose what you like. It's very close to centre and Castle Wernigerode is near. We plan to come again in winter.

It is really a nice authentic place. The hotel is in an old villa on a hill halfway to a puctiresque castle. The room was clean and comfortable, with really a wonderfull view of the city.
There was quite a big problem we faced. We were checking in late and the administrator said we could pick up the key to our room from a box using a code. However, the code just would not reach us either by email or by sms. May be this is not the hotel's fault and something was wrong with our internet and mobile connection, but still.
When we arroved st the property, all the doors were locked, there was no one inside. We tried conractong the admonustration by the mobile number ... to no response. Luckily, there was a German couple who managed to contact the administration by their mobile, so the helped us with the code and the key. Had it not been for them, we would have had to look for another hotel, while the pay had been charged immediately after booking.
Probably the administration has to check whether their emergency mobile number is actually available to international calls.

Excellent location to walk to castle and old town. Staff very nice and helpful.
locating the hotel was difficult- google maps does not take you to the location correctly.
Found it a bit crazy that they charged for car parking where there is at least 10 guest parks at front of hotel off the road- should maybe just be incorporated in the price of the room.
