The hotel was well located on the main square in Wernigerode. The room furnishings were reasonably good. The common areas were extensive with plenty of space to sit and relax.
We were (a little) surprised that very few of the staff spoke any English. This is not a criticism - but something visitors who do not speak German should be aware of. Anyone staying in a superior room would be well advised to ask not to be put into Room 109. We were. The room is directly above the loading bay and kitchen entrance. As a result it was very noisy. I fed this back to reception on departure but got little reaction.

The location is top, the overall decor is dated but really nice and well kept. The breakfast was fantastic. We were very happy that the hotel parking offers electric charging station.
The toilet needed a bit more cleaning due to hard water, but nothing major.

The staff are all highly motivated and very pleasant.
The rooms and decor are a little dated, but functional. The communication was poor ahead of my trip, seeing as I booked 5 months in advance. No one contacted me to ask if I might want dinner in the hotel, so it was all booked up on my arrival.

It has a fantastic location. The caminbar is very Coster.
It is a very good hotell, but it has lst its edge over the past year. This is very obvious when it comeback to the breakfast.

Beautiful hotel in the centre of town. Very good breakfast. Runny eggs, perfectly crispy bacon. The beds were nice, not too soft. Everything was cozy and clean. Only the view from the room was less. Looking out on another roof.
The view from the room, and no elevator to our floor. With a one night stay, and with only a carry-on, this was no problem for us, but if you're staying longer I wouldn't like to haul a big suitcase up the stairs.

Elegant and comfortable stay in the heart of Wernigerode. The hotel is right in the main square by the Rathaus. Excellent breakfast as well. And very close to the Westerntor station for riding the Brockenbahn.
