Hotel Forsthaus is a lovely hotel (I prefer to say pension)! The staff is very nice and supportive and the restaurant is very nice.
Great breakfast!!
Although the hotel was not bad at all, the price-quality ratio was not as we expected. We were in the high-season but still the price was quiet high.

Nice cozy place not far from the lift. Very good quality breakfast with not a lot of choice, but it is great! Free parking available around. Clean rooms and pleasant staff members. Sauna is good, clean, small, enough to enjoy your evening after hiking/skiing day. We did enjoy few evenings in the restaurant of the hotel and it was great, recommend it.
I wish wi fi quality can be better. Probably a bit on expensive side for a really small room.
And there is no spare space for your ski/snowboard to dry out.

Location was ok and the room was reasonably clean.
A big disappointment. We booked this accommodation specifically because of the 3 bed room, which is also shown in the pictures, we had a double bed and a sofa, which is not adequate and was too uncomfortable to sleep on. Room was very old and basic and did not include any amenities, you would at least except a tea/coffee station. Doors creaked, curtains were not blocking any light and overall we felt like staying in a cheap guesthouse and not in a hotel, if only it wasn't for that 4* price... Don't come here on a bike trip either, the bike storage was completely full with other stuff and only had space for 1 or 2 guest bikes. I had to store my bike in the car which was very inconvenient. We told the hotel we were travelling with a small child and we found it to be very inconvenient that we had to carry the stroller and all baby things up the stairs as there is no elevator. All together I won't recommend anyone to book it and we definitely won't be coming back.

The restaurant is excellent. breakfast is good. Sauna etc a real bonus. its well located for the town and not to far from the ski slopes. free parking which is a plus now in Winterberg.
The room smelled heavily of dog. I know the hotel accepts dogs , but this shouldnt be noticeable to the next guests.

Lovely family hotel with great breakfast and cosy restaurant for tasty dinner. About 10 minute walk to town centre, quiet location with easy parking. Very friendly staff and accommodating for young kids. Highly recommended!
It was quite warm in the room even though it was December and we turned the heating off. We solved this by opening window for some time before going to sleep, then it was ok
