Very clean comfortable and charming. Good sized rooms. Despite being on a village main road it was very quiet. Good restaurant with lovely views. Parking always available and places for the bikes.

Great location: you're right in the center of Winterberg. The room had everything you needed + plenty of towels. The pool was very nice and the sauna is a nice addition. The breakfast buffet was very nice: lot's of choice!
The bed isn't too comfortable and makes noice when you turn.

my colleague and I were not let in hotel since the reception closed at18:00h while we arrived at 19.30h. No alternative location was provided for the keys to be picked up, but naturally we were charged for the rooms. Total rip off / Abzockerei !!!

Cleaners very good and efficient.
Hotel in the centre of the town- excellent location.
Very poor breakfast, small portions out so you felt you could not take very much. Not as much variety as other hotels visited. Overall very disappointed. Did not bother to go on the last day of our visit as we just wanted to leave due to an incident the night before in the hotel.
1. No bar in their bierstube open Monday to Thursday. Could only get a drink in the restaurant up to 9pm, but as they had no customers they refused to serve us at 8.15pm on our last night, as the staff were just going home. I pointed out we WERE customers! Guests should be made aware of these possible closures due to the end of their busy season before they book!
So we went across the road we went across the road to a bar open for our night cap. We had to let ourselves back in with our room key at the front door at 9.15pm, which we expected. We went to our room to get some luggage to put in the car ready for journey home the next day and the automatic front door would not open from the inside. There was no button to open it/ key lock. We had been told there was a side entrance which we could not find. So effectively we were locked in the hotel! I am sure if the fire alarm had gone off the front door would have opened but that was not the point. But at 9.15pm we were effectively trapped inside and could not go out again, as there were no staff on duty. What if we had a medical emergency or urgently needed something like medication from the car? When I explained to the receptionist in the morning she said she thought the door should have opened from the inside and she did not know what the boss had done when they locked up?! I was not happy as I had a troubled sleep knowing we had no exit from the hotel. Not good when we had a long journey ahead of us! We could not wait to leave and skipped breakfast!
I will be making a formal complaint to the hotel and Booking.com in due course.
