Poor
The pool with the backdrop of trees was beautiful. Also the external entrance to the building.
The worst breakfast we have ever had. How embarrassing for them that they think it was acceptable The eggs were hard boiled beyond belief and blackened on the inside, like they had been sitting in the fridge all night. Inedible. The muesli container had two tablespoons left in it, not even enough for half a bowl. Precisely two pears were put out, both of which were so obviously bruised and beaten up they were inedible (by this point I wondered if this whole thing was a joke). No meats, no cheeses (in France, paying 15 euros EACH for this breakfast!) The coffee was filtered muck, not even proper coffee. The only thing that was actually edible were the croissants, but they were very clearly not fresh. The only part that was acceptable was the packaged butter and jam! We have been travelling France for over a month and have enjoyed breakfasts all over the country, cheaper and three times the quality and variety. An absolute rip and really set the tone for what this place considered acceptable. There was rubbish around the property, including plastic sheets and actual rubbish bags. Also the wifi worked for about 5 minutes and then we had to use our own 4G.

Very Poor
The garden , ideal for our little dog.
There was no wifi nor fixed line in our room so I couldnt stay as Im in the middle of a property transaction and needed to sign documents. The restaurant was not open despite information to the contrary on this site. After two hours driving, we had no desire to get into the car again to drive to the nearest restaurant. I was still required to pay the room cost in full.

Very friendly welcome. Dinner at the restaurant attached to the hotel was exceptional. Breakfast was faultless. A really lovely stay, and we will be back.

Good
The location was ideal for exploring the Cevennes. The staff were friendly and the food in the restaurant very tasty and reasonably priced. The pool was clean and the water quality good.
My main complaint is in regard to the payment terms which were not clear on the booking site. After booking I received an email advising that one third had been taken from my credit card as a deposit. This was not a check to see if my card was genuine, but an up front deposit. Luckily as only staying two nights it was not an embarressment to my credit status. In addition we then had to pay the balance on arrival. I have not found any previous hotels who ask for payment before you stay. This needs to be made clear on the booking site. A couple of comments about the facilities. The swimming pool does not have a safety fence around it, and there is no indication of the depth. Thought these were a legal requirement. Mainly for the safety of youngsters. In the room was a full mini bar. Everything was to pay for, even the coffee, and there was no milk. Bottles of water also cost. Understand paying for any alcohol is reasonable. The wifi did not reach the room, top floor room 12. Worked near reception so spent time there keeping in contact with family. The bathroom had a "shower over the bath". There was no where to have the shower head supported on the wall so had to be held while standing, not ideal. It should be described as a bath with a spray head. Finally, the building is as you would expect when described as a chateau. Not ideal if you have reduced mobility. There is no lift so all rooms are at least one floor up so there are stairs to climb. This is not something that can be solved so needs to be noted in the facilities notes.

Wonderful
Breakfast was either outdoors or in the dining room depending on the weather. Croissants were fresh as was the orange juice. Several types of cheese were offered with dried and fresh fruit, yogurt and bread, hard boiled eggs, and excellent coffee and milk. There was plenty and I never felt crushed by time or space. The swimming pool was great after sightseeing and there were plenty of nearby extraordinary places to visit.
Nothing.

Wonderful
wonderful place. The property has just started taking guests early August, there not everything is perfect but we had a lovely stay. The staff is very helpful and genuinely nice. The room was spacious and the bathroom renovated and modern. The restaurant is delicious.
No wifi ( yet?) , and a fan could be added in the room for optimal sleep during summer night

Wonderful
I was cycling through the Cevennes and this was my last stop. This was the perfect place to recharge my batteries after some brutal climbs! Dont expect outrageous luxury at this reasonable price but the hotel has everything you need and more; a great pool, river swimming, nice clean rooms (mine with a bath!) and perhaps one of the best outdoor restaurants Ive ever been too. Nothing too much trouble and the food was superb - trout and duck and Tiramisu! Breakfast - unlimited coffee, juice and croissant - served under the shade of a giant oak in the chateau courtyard. The owner and staff were all absolutely delightful, and they seemed like genuine people too! Highly recommended!

Very Poor
Beautiful surroundings. However the claimed luxury of the location is totally lacking. The building and rooms need update. The garden, swimming pool and rooms are 2 star level (at the most) .
Everything. Biggest problem is price vs quality. It is a very basic 2 star hotel, run by two sisters that obviously have no hospitality experience at all. Their so called cosy family project might be nice for them and could work for a starting low cost hotel but in no way for a claimed luxury hotel at corresponding prices. No airco, no bar, no wifi, no service at swimming pool, no suncovers, no garden seats, a very basic breakfast (at 15 each) etc etc. Because of lacking wifi we had to pay in cash. After all the negative reviews one of the sisters placed her own review and scored herself a 10. Without any response or action to improve. The sisters seem to have just one goal: earn as much money in the shortest possible time. Theres only one conclusion: this hotel is total rip off! Stay away!
