Excellent location for exploring the east of the city, in a quiet enclave on the Place des Vosges behind its own secluded courtyard. Our room was very comfortable and the bed superb. The staff is/are excellent - the only 5* part of the hotel.
This is not a 5* hotel despite its ranking as such. It is 4* at most so don't raise your expectations too high. The lift is decrepit, there is only one and in the mornings the staff and the linen trolleys are often using it. The restaurant was closed when we were there so can't comment on that but the food served in the bar/breakfast room was very good, if very pricey. The breakfast was ok but very expensive so we ate in one of the cafes in the square after Day 1 and the quality/price was much better. Renovation work was underway during our stay which didn't inconvenience us, as we ere out all day but had that not been the case it would have been very unpleasant. Brick dust was however all around the floors in question despite the best efforts of the staff to minimise it. Will we return? If we need a hotel in the Marais, maybe.

The friendly and attentive attitude of the staff together with hotel’s location in the historical center of Paris and its beautiful interior decoration fascinated me. The courtyard garden was beautiful even in gray, rainy days of January. Delicous breakfast and dinner!
The renovation work next to my room was unpleasant. It was not a good idea to put a black carpet in the lift because it is impossible to keep it clean with so much traffic.
