Very Good
Larger room. Comfortable bed. Best shower I've experienced in years, despite the unusual controls. Staff extremely friendly and helpful -- waitress at dinner worked hard to help us with menu, and the wine, Manager (I'm guessing) spent > 30mins with me looking through CCTV to try to identify who side-swiped my car in the car park (turned out to be a non-event) -- very much appreciated his time and help. Huge car park in front of hotel. Very well positioned location of hotel. There's an outside terrace behind the hotel, facing into some enormous, mature, beautiful trees, and a small cliff-face, beneath which is a tiny 2-chair patio -- a sun-trap in the afternoon -- quiet and tranquil. The grounds behind the hotel contain a glorious, long, rural walk surrounded by a vast meadow on one side, and on the other, tall trees, a castle, and two chateau! Delightful place -- the scale completely unexpected within the town (strictly it's the next parish, Beguey, but directly borders the Castle of Cadillac).
Buttons or markings on the shower-controls (otherwise, a most brilliant shower!)

Pleasant
I have stayed here twice in the past month. On both occasions, the room was excellent. The staff were friendly. On the first occasion, we had a really excellent meal.
On the second occasion we stayed here I received an email 2 days beforehand telling me the restaurant would be closed on the night of our stay - before traveling I had checked both on their website and with the hotel that the restaurant would be open. Beguey is not a place with many restaurants. This is a most unsatisfactory way to treat clients. I cancelled my reservation.

Fair
Calm. Fast internet. The restaurant is passable but not good value for money.
The room was very dowdy with a terrible smell of drains in the bathroom. One of the knobs on the shower was missing. The hotel and restaurant were not good value for money at all.

The staff were amazing just outstanding and they went over and above every time we met them. This was from accommodating our distant needs to giving me a lift when my Uber didn't turn up. We couldn't ask for more. It felt like we were with friends.

Nice little Hotel with a great Restaurant too. Property is very well maintained great area for children to play outside and a pool
For me personally Id prefer tea and coffee facilities in the room . I am not sure if th machine in the breakfast room was for use 24/7 but that would have been perfect.

Felt property needed a refurb. All rather dated and showing signs of wear. Restaurant average.

Very Good
Room was nothing special, but with the expected amenities. The hotel's restaurant was very good, and we ate there each night as the menu was well worth exploring. Breakfast was OK, but selection could be better, especially the fruit--we took our own fruit to breakfast that we purchased at the Aldi supermarket across the road. The greatest asset of the hotel is the staff. They all went out of their way to help and were all very pleasant, especially Yanna (Yanne?). The hotel's location is perfect for exploring all the many attractions around the area of Cadillac, not only the number of wineries, but all the fortresses, chateaux (some now picturesque ruins), and delightful medieval towns and villages.
Nothing much

Pool area nice and clean, reception staff lovely. We saw some families has nice rooms.
We paid the same as everyone else on our trip and our room was shocking. Dated, dark and looked like something out of a horror motel.

Wonderful
A lovely place in what must have once been the grounds of the huge chteau next door. Great garden under the trees to sit and have a drink in the afternoon and excellent swimming pool. Big meadow to walk in, great for my large dog who was welcomed. Really good restaurant.
Nothing, I am glad we stopped there.

Good
The dinner at the restaurant was excellent. Great service in English and French and delicious food and wine. The pool was great too and the staff were very friendly in English and French.
The room I had was a good size but old fashioned with outdated and tired decor, fixtures and fittings. My friends room however was very modern and recently decorated so there was some discrepancy there.
