The staff!! Especially the woman who welcomed us when we arrived, ordered pizza for us tired travelers, and insisted we carry our luggage up.
What a kind person.
Also, the breakfast here was by far the best we’ve seen on any trip.

Everything was spectacular! From the check-in process and assistance to the room, to the recommendations for food, to the complimentary fruit/snacks and tea for happy hour, to the incredibly delicious breakfast, to the location, to the assistance with reservations for dinner and taxis .... I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Splendida Palace. All the ladies are extremely helpful, polite, and go over an above to serve their guests. The location is easy for walking to the ferry, the ruins, restaurants, etc. I stayed in a room for one and it fit me well. The little balcony was perfect for an evening drink. The plunge pool is small but delightful and it is fun to talk with other guests there about their daily adventures. This was probably one of the best customer service I have received at a hotel in my travels all around the world. I cannot say enough wonderful things about the property and the ladies who operate it. I will be back!

We want to thank Marija, Željka, and the other staff at Splendida Palace for a wonderful stay. From the moment we arrived everyone was extremely helpful and welcoming.
After guiding us to a parking spot (the hotel has several, just let them know in advance if you have a car), Marija brought us inside and welcomed us with a delicious glass of rakija (a popular fruit brandy) while she and Željka spent 20+ minutes marking out spots to see in Split on a map, along with the best places and times to go, restaurants, and even their favorite ice cream shops. Marija also (the next day) recommended the best places to get olive oil, truffles, and souvenirs.
Splendida itself is very close to Diocletian’s Palace – a 5-minute walk along well-travelled streets; but it is also far enough removed that there is no traffic or crowds nearby and you do not feel like you’re in the middle of a city.
As far as the room, it was very nice, clean, and well-equipped. It was very comfortable, quiet, and we didn’t hear any outside noise. The bathroom was huge. There was also a small pool at the facility, but we did not use it.
Breakfast was amazing – they give you a ton of food (and it’s all good).
Overall, we highly recommend the Splendida Palace and their wonderful hosts.
Possibly the only complaint about our entire stay would be that the bedroom itself was a little on the smaller side given the cost of the room, but that’s often the price of being so close to the main tourist destinations and it didn’t detract from our stay. We also only booked a standard double room, so some of the other options may have been bigger.

We loved our stay at Splendida Palace! It's charming, immaculately clean, and beautifully maintained. The rooms are very spacious and bright, and the air conditioning worked well (which was important for us, as we visited Split during a heatwave.) The staff was exceptionally friendly and breakfast we delicious. Highly recommend!

The staff was wonderful and the breakfast was delicious and very satisfying. The staff, especially Maria and Dea, could not do enough for you. They both were gracious and charming. The room was very clean and the bathroom in particular was outstanding with top of the line sink, shower, etc.
Nothing related to the hotel. The location of the hotel and the walk from the hotel to Old Town, while only about five to seven minutes, is dirty and unsavory. The hotel loses some of its charm only for something they cannot control.

Quiet, clean, comfortable property only a few minutes walk to the Diocletian’s Palace and the old town. Best of all is the attention to detail by Marija and her staff! Extremely friendly and helpful. Enjoyed dinner at 2 restaurants Marija recommended! And breakfast at Splendida Palace is outstanding!

This was an extraordinary place to stay. The proprietor and staff were so friendly and helpful. We showed up late after a day of rescheduled travel, and the proprietor made us a plate of meats and cheeses just because she didn’t want us to go hungry at night. Amazing level of hospitality in a beautiful and historic hotel.
