In central Dublin, the family-run Gate Hotel is just off O’Connell Street and 5 minutes’ from fantastic shopping at Henry Street. The hotel offers free Wi-Fi, rooms with private bathroom. Room was clean and staff were inviting
My bed was broken. There was massive dip in my mattress which couldn't be slept in. When reported. The staff could do nothing about it. When I was leaving. The secretary just apologised. No refund, nothing was offered. Myself and my freind were exhausted due to the lack of sleep we got. And very upset.

Room was clean and reasonably comfortable. Good location in centre of Dublin, with lots of Bus/Tram stops in the vicinity. Plenty of cafes in the area for breakfast. Close to a number of supermarkets. Staff were helpful and allowed me to drop off my luggage there in the morning, prior to formal check-in later that afternoon.
The hotel had a "well worn" feel about it. But it's not The Ritz and is good value overall.

Staff were ok
I only booked as it said online i could pay at hotel..booking went true. Got several emails saying card declined ect. Rectified details twice, had to call hotel. To be told oh we dont accept that anymore. And if you dont come within 15mins your booking will be cancelled and u will have to pay the full price.Very noisy with live band next door. Rooms very basic and worn. Need updating
