The possibility of the facilities that could be on offer.
However, not all hotel facilities were available at the time we stayed. We were not aware that this would be the case. Would have liked to eat at the hotel, but food and bar services were not available.

Quiet and clean hotel. Easy access, via steps and escalator, down to Old Town, Salerno. Great for solo, keeping fit, traveller. Felt safe. Very high standards of customer service in hotel.

Very nice view as it sits on hilltop
Secluded. Nothing around it. Not easy to walk as its on steep hill. Hundreds of steps. WiFi barely worked and only limited to one device.

Staff was very friendly and accommodative. View from the room was very nice. Room was spacious.
Parking was tight and we had to pay for parking, which was not clear at the time of booking. Breakfast was indicated available, but, their kitchen was closed for the season. Staff arranged for some basic pastries and coffee/tea for a charge. No restaurants or stores nearby - we had to walk 20 mins to the city or 12 min drive to get any food or other necessities. Entrance to the property was off a blind turn from a busy highway - driving out of the property was a bit of a hassle every time. Further entrance to the property was a steep driveway from an automated gate. Gate started to close one day when we were pulling out and damaged our rental.

We paid for 2 nights at this property but actually didn't stay. We arrived prior to the noted check-in time from Ravello and while we didn't expect to be able to check in, we assumed we could leave our luggage to explore the city. The property is located off of a very busy highway and is behind a locked gate. We rang the buzzer and unfortunately the person who answered didn't speak English and we don't speak Italian. We used Google translate to ask if we could leave our bags and we were hung up on. I was able to get the attention of the person who stuck her head out the door, I motioned to my bags and tried to ask if we could leave them. I thought she was going to help us but she just closed the door and left us behind the gate. I called the property 2 times and got no response. We finally just left and walked into town and got another hotel for our 2 night stay in Salerno. I'm sure the views are nice from the property but it is up on a hill, off of a busy highway, so the walk to and from town is not easy. We were there off season (November) and the property seemed deserted and the grounds not well maintained (which could be do to the season only). Based on the location I would not recommend this hotel unless your plan is to mainly stay at the hotel and not go down to the city very often. I also would have assumed for a 4 star property to be able to leave our bags.
The customer service we received upon our early arrival which resulted in our inability to stay at the property and losing the money we paid for the 2 nights.

Beautiful Villa with a spectacular view of Salerno and the bay. Excellent location ..few steps down into town. Everything about the hotel is just perfect ..rooms, restaurant, pool, gardens and wonderful, welcoming family atmosphere.

The views are spectacular. The staff is so very friendly and the grounds are immaculately cared for. The pool is amazing. The view of Salernos bay is breath taking. At night the room was very quiet and very spacious.

Villa Poseidon & Events was an enormously, wonderful surprise. The views of the Tyranean Sea, the entire city of Salerno with its ancient buildings to the well-groomed beach with its boardwalk, park and palm trees are unequaled. You can see yachts, ferries, sailboats, powerboats on the sea or moored at one of the marinas that are like bookends to the beautiful beach.The Villa is exceptionally maintained and manicured. The cobblestone courtyard and parking area behind the dynamic wrought iron ,app-operated gates are painted in a sea-shell scallop pattern to match the white design of the gates. The grounds are huge with fruit-tree lined paths, many terraced sitting areas with glamorous lawn and patio furniture. A series of walkways and stairs all lit-up at night with dome, neon lights or lanterns with candles. The huge kidney shaped pool is surrounded by more sitting areas, a dining area under a huge pergola , another overlooking the pool sheltered from the side of the mountain by flowering trees. For the travellers who hike or those who like to get their steps-in, the stairs and patio-stoned walkways of the resort lead to 291 stairs that take you down, past a local mountain road, down further to the edge of Old Town Salerno. To return to the Villa, the town has provided a series of three covered escalators built alongside the stairs to the mountain road. Beyond that to the Villas private doorway to their property, one must literally retrace their steps. The property is family owned and operated and since there are only 10 rooms all named after flowers, the staff devote themselves to your every need. The rooms have every modern convenience. The lobby and eating areas are gorgeous. No wonder brides choose the Villa for their wedding venue. Its the ultimate private romantic getaway. It is paradise.
We loved everything about the Villa Poseidon & Events. If we didnt live in Canada we would choose to return there often for a peaceful, private vacation especially with our children and grandchildren. We know they would love it too. Should we ever have a holiday with family, it would be wonderful to be able to share the kitchen facilities to accommodate our lifestyle.

The view from the room was excellent. Nice relaxing area near the pool (which was sparkling clean). Check-in procedure was quick. The receptionist did his best to explain important things (although in poor English) The hotel was quite.
The staff spoke very poor English. The safe in the room was not functional (and was not repaired throughout our stay!). The internet was frequently loosing signal and I needed to log in repeatedly at least 3-4 times a day. The driveway was very steep towards a busy road full of trucks. The visibility was very,very poor and driving out from the hotel is a life hazard. Perhaps the mirror on the opposite side of the road might help.

Wonderful
We had a lovely, large room with small balcony over looking the sea. Comfy bed. Room quiet at night we slept well. Nice bathroom. The room was serviced/cleaned each day. Nice breakfast with a good selection of food. The hotel had a courtesy shuttle into town each morning which we used most days. The entire hotel was very nicely furnished. All staff were very nice and very helpful.
We had no dislikes.
