Convenient location -- nearby train station, mega-sized mall, convenience store, Old Town. Room was comfortable. Breakfast was very good. Very helpful housekeeping staff.

Wonderful
Great location. Staff was very friendly. Very good breakfast with plenty of choices. Bed was so comfortable and I had a great balcony with a spectacular view.

Perfect location, clean and tidy, friendly staff
No air-conditioning in the room. I was cheated into buying this room by booking.com algorithms despite I clearly checked “air-conditioner” checkbox when doing actual booking. Hot afternoon, +30C, made this stay a torture. 2. Smallest pillows I ever had in a hotel ( those must be for kids) the result - uncomfortable sleep. No mini fridge in a room.

The hotel itself was okay – clean rooms and a good location. However, I had a very stressful experience due to the misleading information and the unreasonable behavior of the reception staff. I needed to go to a hospital with my sick child. The staff gave me incorrect information about nearby hospitals and even called a taxi to the wrong location, which caused a serious delay, unexpected costs and a significant discomfort for my sick child.
I didn't even get an apology from the hotel stuff.

The location is ideal: it's just 5 minute walk from the train station and very close to the old town. The room was spacey and comfortable. Although it faced the street, there was rather little noise, probably because of good insulation. Breakfast was very good. Staff was friendly and helpful.
There was neither coffee maker nor even tea kettle in the room. The price was rather high for this city.

Disappointing Experience with Bugs Infestation and Poor Response from Hotel Management

I'm extremely disappointed with my recent stay at MATAJKO Hotel Despite paying for a clean and comfortable room, I was plagued by bed bug bites that left me with a severe allergic reaction. The situation escalated to the point where I had to visit the emergency room, waiting for nearly 5 hours and incurring additional medical expenses.
What's even more frustrating is the hotel management's response when I reported the issue. They seemed unconcerned and unhelpful, claiming it wasn't their responsibility to know about the problem. The maid's inspection of the room failed to identify any bugs, which raises questions about the hotel's pest control measures.
Given the distress and financial burden caused by this incident, I expect a more proactive and apologetic response from the hotel. As a paying guest,
Advice for others:* Be cautious when staying at MATEJKO Hotel and consider taking extra precautions to inspect your room for signs of Spiders or Mosquitoes or Bed Bugs.
