Áurea Museum by Eurostars Hotel Company is a unique 5-star property located on the banks of the Tagus River, in a historic building in Lisbon's iconic Alfama quarter. The hotel features a permanent archaeological exhibition, as well as modern facilities, like an indoor pool, restaurant, massage room and Turkish bath. The décor features references to the cultural legacy of the hotel's building. The air-conditioned rooms all come with a private bathroom, flat-screen TV, safety deposit box and a work desk. The most terrible hotel we have ever stayed in. Starting with the hotel's main entrance being completely covered in urine, it makes the lobby smell terrible. None of the staff even pays attention to this. We lived in this hotel for 3 nights and no one ever cleaned it. It feels like this smell has been there for many years. Then it gets worse. dirty torn curtains, old torn towels, chairs, room balcony is also never cleaned. Cheap mattresses are not comfortable. there is no service at all. we asked to bring water to our room because there was none when we checked in, but they simply ignored us. The information on the booking site is incorrect and misleading to customers. It says that the hotel is 5 stars and has a swimming pool. in fact, there is no pool for hotel guests. You need to pay separately for entrance to some spa center, and then you can use the pool. etc. etc. We do not recommend this hotel to people looking for service, cleanliness and luxury. we paid over 300 euros per night and we have the impression that we were simply deceived and robbed.

The location is close to the tourist attractions, I received a free upgrade from a family room to a luxury apartment and every day I received a fruit platter with a bottle of champagne in the room. The apartment with a sea view was spacious and well organized, the bed comfortable, the 2 bathrooms very clean and I had a spacious and elegant living room. This hotel was an excellent choice.

Everything was just great! The hotel itself, the museum inside the hotel, the friendly staff, the room, size and facilities, the bathroom, the light in the room, the AC, the comfort of mattresses and pillows, the view from the terrace of the room, the gym, the coffee machine and of course - the location! thank you very much

Location was brilliant, easy walk to everything except uphill to Alfama but even that was nice to walk through the backstreets to see less touristy streets and we found a couple of lovely eateries. Athe bed was amazingly comfortable!

I love the decor in the nice big rooms. The water was steaming hot and the bathroom was nice and roomy. The breakfast had a great selection of food with fresh fruit, bacon, ham, eggs, bread, pastries, etc.
