The location and breakfast were excellent!! The room was spacious and comfortable.
We ran out of hot water for showers. There was no place to hang wet towels in the bathroom and no safety grab bar in the shower stall. There was a sewer odor permeating the room at times.

We stayed for three nights before our transatlantic cruise. We were assigned Room 309 with a window facing the street. It was a bit noisy out there at night, but we were OK with that while light sleepers might have a problem. The included breakfast was excellent and the staff members were very helpful. The elevator was very large which is unusual for most older hotels. We booked a taxi from the airport to the hotel through Booking.com. They also arranged for a taxi from the hotel to the cruise terminal amd they were able to pick us up right outside the hotel instead of having to walk down the street to a corner. We would definitely recommend staying there as the location was near everything we wanted to see.

I love that this was a 3rd generation Portuguese owned property. Many of the other buildings have been bought up by foreign investors, and so it made me happy to learn that I was supporting the local economy and it's people. The staff was lovely, and I had everything I needed during my stay. Breakfast was included which was nice and they had good options on the buffet line. The only slight critique is that my room was very small and there wasn't a lot of room to walk around the bed. However, since I was out most of the day exploring this wasn't too bit a deal as I was only sleeping in the room. Location was good, near touristy spots, two metro stops just minutes away. The city is very safe and the locals are very friendly. I would stay there again!

The hotel was in a fabulous spot in the middle of everything. It was very clean with very comfortable rooms. I also liked the restaurant included with the hotel . There were just little things I thought the hotel should’ve had. There was no hair conditioner in the bathroom, you needed to have coin euros to get anything out of the vending machine. But overall, I would stay there again.

Beautiful hotel in an amazing location. The man at reception was one of the best we've experienced - so friendly and helpful, walking us out to the walk street to point out the nearby location of the amazing restaurant where we ate. He also proactively offered a boxed breakfast because we knew we'd be leaving before breakfast started. The hotel decor - reception and room - was charming. The bathroom was lovely. Bed was comfortable.
Having to leave. One night wasn't enough!

Helpful and professional staff. Great location. Clean and modern hotel. Room is clean and a good size. Bathroom is huge! Good breakfast!
There were a couple of times that we had to leave the hotel to catch our tour/flight but breakfast doesn’t open before 7:30 am. Requested for bagged breakfast which wasn’t really good. It would be nice if breakfast starts earlier than 7:30 am.

Clean and recently renovated. Centrally located and in an area with great restaurants. The breakfast was amazing with many fresh choices. The staff was very pleasant and helpful
Some rooms have not been renovated and they tried to put our friends in those rooms at the same rate we were paying for a renovated room. They either shouldn’t be renting out these rooms or offer a steep discount for people to accept them.

Location was very convenient. Hotel was beautifully decorated and spotless. Our room was quiet, had ample space, sitting area and great walk-in shower. Plenty of closet and storage space.
The staff were all pleasant and helpful.

We enjoyed the breakfast and location.
I rarely write reviews but I needed to write one about this hotel. We stayed here for our honeymoon. I messaged the hotel in February asking for a queen bed ahead of time. We arrived at 5:30 in the morning and dropped off our luggage, the front desk said that they would message us when our room was ready so we set off the explore. We changed on the bathroom and there was a dead cockroach on the ground. After walking around for many hours, we were exhausted, so we came back around 2:30pm to the hotel, and were told that apparently our room had been ready for a couple of hours! We were so annoyed as all we wanted to do was take a nap. Then we walked up to our room, we saw that we got 2 twin beds… on our honeymoon. We then noticed very loud noises coming from our window. There is a theatre and it was blasting musical theatre music, the same song, which we later found like lasted from around 9am-11pm. After one night with our twin beds, we went down to the front desk in the morning and asked if we could switch rooms to one with a larger bed and less noise. Luckily they said that they could switch us but the woman at the front desk advised for us to “throughly check out our new room now before moving.” That would require us coming back and looking at it once cleaned and we really just wanted to explore and enjoy our trip. We said, it’s fine, as we wanted to start our day, we proceeded to store our bags again until the room was ready at 3pm. We then came back from being out all day and went into our new room. Definitely less quiet and a larger bed! Then we wanted to shower. But, the shower head was broken…… it would not stay and would only spray up towards the ceiling which we found out the hard way. I can’t help but think that they knew that the shower head was broken when I’m giving us the new room.
