Great room, spacious and spotless, excellent staff who were really helpful, wonderful breakfasts. Great location and lovely ambiance, very far from being a chain hotel experience.
Would have preferred not to have the piped music and the pool was very cold (but it was October)

Nice property, good value, very friendly staff but lots of room for improvement. Nice breakfast buffet but also has room for improvement. Good value comparatively but at $500 night it should be perfect!!
Located at top of a very steep hill, you can pay to use the cable car or walk, drive.

This place is a gem, extremely well laid out with a view of the ocean from the bar deck. The breakfast room was exceptional with raw honey and everything imaginable for breakfast, including fresh baked goods, fresh fruit, dried fruit, and all manor of hot breakfast options. We actually had lunch and two dinners at our hotel, because all the food prepared was incredibly delicious in every way! Their chef is Michelin rated. The dcor of this remodeled ancient structure was like out of an architectural magazine, truly magnificent!
Not much to dislike, other than perhaps spotty WIFI by the pool.

hotel and restaurant staff were wonderful, very helpful, friendly. neighborhood is lovely, hotel well located. nice views. hotel kept old-world charm but provided adequate modern amenities. welcome bottle of wine nice touch.
breakfast was not replenished regularly enough. Lots of empty platters for too long in the morning. light on my balcony stayed on until 1am so had to sleep in complete darkness with shutters closed.

Hotel amenities great. Rooms clean and well appointed. All rooms are different. Ours was the smallest of the three rooms we booked but had nicer views.
Our room looked over pool and at night the spotlights beam into room. Was extremely bright
First impressions walking into hotel not great as it feels like youre entering through an alleyway and garbages were overflowing on street outside hotel all three days we were there
Hotel sits on top of a hill not close to main tourist areas. Had to take taxis back to hotel after touring around. Long climb otherwise.

The view was the best part of the hotel. The breakfast was amazing. We had a corner balcony that we enjoyed both nights we were there.
The Jacuzzi was not working. It did not turn on at first. When it did turn on it would not get to temperature.

In general a charming, relaxed hotel, great views of the city, many pretty places to sit and enjoy the rooftops city vibe. Staff were willing and warm. Breakfast was good. Penthouse suite was attractive and comfortable with good beds and great views of the skyline. There was construction happening just outside our window while we were staying, but management were very apologetic and did - after a few requests - get the workmen to stop on Saturday morning. They also compensated us for the inconvenience. This work will be finished in a couple of weeks and then there will be more penthouse accommodation.

Breakfast was excellent, apartment was beautiful, pool and gardens were a perfect retreat. Entire staff was friendly and helpful throughout our stay. A perfect four days including celebrating our anniversary!
Only negative was walking up the hill, the construction outside and trying to figure out the washing machine. Would also have liked a bathtub but understand it was not available for that room.

Beautiful hotel with great views over Lisbon. Lovely breakfast and we had a good meal one evening.
When we arrived we were put into a room where the air conditioning did not work - the thing that irritated us was that the hotel knew it wasnt working. We had to move rooms which was inconvenient as we had our 3 month old baby with us. We had no turndown service during our stay and then had to move rooms again as there was no hot water! Our 2 night stay was overshadowed by a catalogue of errors. That said, the manager was very apologetic and proactive in addressing the situation and we appreciated her approach.
This could be a great hotel, it just needs to be a bit slicker e.g. service was generally slow.
