We were regulars at the old place and this new location is quite a bit further out - it takes quite a bit to get to places. Also, when we were there it was awash with large groups of white twenty-somethings getting very loud and very drunk, not sure if thats now the typical customer but it did make things less relaxing and in tune with the rest of Uganda than we liked.

Very very very disappointed to see they've recharged all the transactions I made in with my credit card again 3 months later.

Even though I paid for a private room, they wanted to charge me for a towel. Not cool.

No plug in the dorm room The sheets werent clean

the Wi-Fi was not working most of the time. the food was a little plain/boring - could have used more local options and a bit cheaper.

No private bathroom even for expensive single room. Internet was terrible and it was dirty.

It is quite far out of Kampala and it feels quite empty as it is such a huge property. You have to walk outside to get to the shared bathroom and I saw quite a few mosquitoes while I was having a shower.

I don't know how I missed the fact the the rooms are not ensuite. The communal washroom wasn't too bad in our case, because occupancy was very low.

Shared bathrooms for 37 dollars, no WiFi , restaurant closes at 9, no smoking in MY room I think you should be clearer on online booking sites, I booked standard double thinking it was self contained even smaller establishments are self contained. or is it the only the camping, sharing bathrooms crowd you cater to?

I've been to over 40 countries, this is the worst place I've ever stayed.

our room was very simple and not very clean - Molly shower screen, very old noisy stained fridge, mosquito nets had holes. The place generally looks quite run down. Also some services offered are not available such as the shuttle service, and none of the social activities (movie nights, pizza by the pool) are actually being organised.

The rooms reminded us of air raid shelters, very dim and with lots of concrete in view. The staff can be helpful but they tend to be on the less active side, at times waiting behind the counter for your dinner order. Beside that, we had the impression that the underlying organization of the hostel could do with some improvements. For example, we left some large backpacks in the hostel when we went on safari, explicitly stating that we would be coming back to stay another night at Red Chili's afterwards. Mid-Safari we were treated to a very awkward conversation with our guide who told us that the hostel had contacted him about the "unpaid bill" for our stay. Upon telling him we had every intention of going back to the hostel, considering our bags were still there, the situation was resolved. Yet a feeling of wonder lingered about how an information like that could have gone missing. Next to this experience, the fact that staff members popped up next to us every other minute to ask us to pay bits and bots that they had forgotten to charge us for seems to pale, yet it felt strange to only see the staff acting proactive whenever it concerned us paying some little odd charge.
