Poor
Nice gardens and a very good location centrally in Kampala.
Good housekeeping
- Extremely slow service (up to an hour wait for drinks even when no other costumers present, it also took 45 minutesto check in although noone else was checking in at the same time).
- No gym despite advertising that they have one.
- Breakfast only ready at stated serving time 1 of 6 days.
- Only enough hot water to fill a 1/3 of the bathtub.
- Poor quality food despite premium prices. Had the worst burger of my life.. chips always soggy etc.

Great location and clean
The fact that the evening receptionists didnt seem to know how to his job. Also ringing me after midnight, interrupting my privacy,to ask me for my long card number, something thats unacceptable. Ofcourse I didnt give it to him. Pool side burgers were not the best. My daughter ordered chicken and i, the beef burger.

It has a lovely quiet environment with the gardens making a beautiful retreat from the chaos of central Kampala. The open plan restaurant and bar is very nice and relaxing. The food and presentation was good. Staff were very nice and helpful throughout our stay.
Its started to show some fading from its former glory and needs a little more general maintenance investment throughout the complex. I was first here ten years ago and it doesn't seem anything has been done since this time. Also, my room should have been checked in respect of general maintenance - light bulbs etc as a part of the general housekeeping but wasn't. That said the response to the issues I raised was immediate. One thing they have added is a large dominate TV in the bar playing continual football that none of the guests that I saw were interested in. Totally ruins the otherwise perfect ambience of the setting. Once again, when I asked for it to be turned off (three nights in a row) it was. One thing to look out for is the hotel applies a rip off exchange rate should you wish to convert Shillings to Dollars to pay a bill. Emin Pasha used a 'house conversion' rate of 3,400 to the dollar whilst the hotel across the road used 3,700. Even in central Kampala they were giving you 3,600 in a coffee shop against a main exchange rate of about 3,800. This is just unnecessary greed on behalf of the Emin Pasha management, and whilst easily side stepped by paying in Shillings, including by Visa, it's not a good message from a lovely hotel.

Such a beautiful place !!!!!!! I love this place.
Staff is very slow and does not seem very motivated, but apart from that the place is perfect!

Lovely old colonial building. Rooms are a great size and very comfortable Gardens are gorgeous Staff are all friendly and very helpful
Little bit rundown, could do with some maintenance and TLC particularly in rooms Food was actually terrrible - would not recommend the restaurant.

The hotel location is great and you get a sense of timeout from the buzz of Kampala. Clean room with all facilities and amenities required by me as a business traveler. Meal selection and quality good.
Room I had didnt have a shower, bathtub only. The aircon compressor outside my window was a bit noisy which disturbed a bit.

The garden is super nice and the whole place is very relaxing, clean and calm. Nice breakfast and coffee and nice staff. Overall I would definitely stay again.
It would be nice if there was laundry facilities that guests could use. I really needed to do laundry and asked if it is possible to use a washing machine which wasn't. Paying for having laundry done piece by piece is just not affordable.

Everything but the food was great. Beautiful setting, great location, charming rooms and lovely staff.
The food is not the greatest, though. A huge menu and no daily specials. Quite a challenge for a kitchen to cater to such a big selection every day.

The garden and the rooms are very pleasant and comfortable.
I asked them to book me a taxi for my flight, which they did. But even though I was told that I should leave at 2pm, the driver didn't show until 3pm. While I was waiting, they kept reassuring me that it wouldn't take long to get to the airport, but it actually took me an hour to get to the airport and I ended up missing my flight and having to pay extra to get on the next flight. The driver also informed me that they had not told him what time my flight was. The stay was very pleasant, but book your own airport transportation and leave earlier than they tell you to leave.
