The facilities. Had a lovely swim in the indoor swimming pool. Great breakfast. Dated but big room. Parking, plus kettle and iron in the room.

Staff was so friendly. Excellent breakfast. Bus stop right next to hotel made it super easy to get in to Edinburgh . The options bistro restaurant was excellent. They have little booklets for tourists that tell you things to do and how to get there and which busses to take. That was very helpful!
Tub had very high walls so it was kind of hard to get in and out of. Matresses were very firm for my taste.

The room was ok. It did the job for what we needed. Yes, it was a little dated, and the bathroom was quite small (although it had a huge shower, but not much power), but it was cheap and cheerful for what we needed. The room provided tea and coffee, and you could go to reception for more if you required it. It had plenty of storage space and a dressing table to get ready at. The hotel was very quiet at night, which was nice. I can't comment on the bar/restaurant as we didn't use them.
The location was perfect for us. A 5 min walk to the train station and then about 7 minutes into the city. We stayed here to explore Edinburgh, and it didn't disappoint. There was free parking at the hotel, which is always a bonus when staying in a city, and the hotel also provided free umbrellas to use, which came in very handy for us!
I found the bed quite hard and woke up a few times in the night as I wasn't comfortable. However, this is just a personal choice, and my partner found it absolutely fine.

Staff were all very efficient and friendly,room was excellent and clean. The pool,Sauna and Steam room were all excellent,very clean facilities. Me and my wife had a great time.

Great service and nice breakfast, also nice swimming pool with good sauna and nice jacuzzi
Rooms itself were pretty old and could use a thorough renovation. Alarm went off at 3h in the night and was only fixed after 10 minutes so everyone was out by then.

The food was very good. Lovely cooked breakfast, buffet style with quality ingredients. The dinner menu was also really good - I had all of the fish options on the menu by the end of my stay and was not at all disappointed. The soup was also very tasty
Great location. Train station is 5 minutes' walk from the hotel, and the bus stop
directly outside both connect to city centre
The hotel is very dated. The furniture, carpets, and decor is very old and lets the hotel down a bit, which is a shame. Needs redecorating.
Bit of a musty smell in the corridors, presumably from the leaks (there were bowls left out to catch the leaks from the ceilings)

Iv stayed here quite a few times. Sometimes I come to stay with my children and grandchildren, Iv even stayed on my own. The staff are amazing, friendly and approachable. The food is very good in fact its so comfy at the hotel that I find it hard to leave to go back home!!!!
Use of the swimming pool and gym amenities are all included its truly is an exceptional hotel I give it 10/10 or more

Lovely staff, extremely helpful. Pool was nice. The hotel is very far away from the Centre but the bus stop is right in front of the hotel which was nice. Rooms are clean and big.
The hotel was full of elderly people, not that it was a problem but it felt like a pensioners club. Food in the restaurant is quite expensive, nothing special. The bed and pillows were very uncomfortable, couldnt sleep properly not a single night. In general overpriced hotel for what they offer but it was okay for a short stay.
