Location is excellent and the hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Hotel was clean and the robes and slippers were a nice touch to the standard double room.
Some aspects of the bedroom in need of repair, slight issue with the shower and the ceiling looked like it had a basic repair but very noticeably covered up.

Lovely room, great bed and good location.
The hotel is very tired and dated in places, there was a huge crack and (we presume!) an old leak in the bathroom ceiling, we reported it to the staff who didn’t bother to check it or update us / reassure us it was safe which was disappointing.

Nice renovated room and bathroom with coffee machine and kettle. Heated towel rail and hot shower was perfect. Car parking facility was an added bonus. Lot of restaurants and shops nearby. We liked the place so much, we canceled another booking and rebooked here for a second stay.
I had a look at the breakfast, was not much value. For same price, we can get a nice breakfast from coffee shops nearby.

I loved the styling of the hotel and room. I loved the high ceiling and beautiful cornices on the ceilings. The bed was excellent and the staff were friendly. Also the location across from the park was ideal. Nearby there’s both a yoga & Pilates studios if you want to get to a fitness class.
I wasn’t super impressed by breakfast, but I opted only for the continental breakfast. I would describe it as adequate.

It was a really nice hotel. Peaceful, quiet and close to the Edinburgh castle. Kids loved it also as they had their own kingdom in the room. A lot of space in the room.
Our room was really warm due to some water pipes that went through our room. But you can use air conditioner to cool the room down.

Beautiful hotel with loads of character and luxury. the room was large with a separate sitting area, a nice sized bathroom with a large bath. high ceilings and lots of comfort.
parking was tricky - first come first served. parking on the street as an alternative will cost you plenty.
