Jimmy and Fiona were incredibly nice, very helpful and very knowledgeable about the surrounding area. The house is a mile or two away from the Royal Mile making it a quieter area with easy access to the hustle and bustle by bus, cab or walking. Our room was clean and breakfast was delicious!

Really comfortable, stylish place with lovely people to welcome and host us. Fantastic breakfasts.
For us, this was a perfect location, as we wanted to be near Newington, to link in with relatives there. It would also be good for Central Edinburgh, as the bus stops right outside.
Well, it was fairly expensive - but understandable over Hogmanay. We also booked late, and it was worth it for us.

The room is very clean and quiet! The bed is comfortable and the heater is hot. Jimmy and Fiona are very kind people and like them very much! They prepare breakfast according to everyone's different needs, meticulous and thoughtful, and look forward to coming again next time! Come here, you'll love it, I promise!

Beautiful property with onsite parking and close to several pubs, restaurants. Easy bus trip into the city. Hosts were very friendly and helpful.
Unfortunately we couldn't get a double room as the hotel was full, so our twin room was a bit small. Also, we were in a room at the front of the property which is on the main road so it was quite noisy at night. However, I had a glimpse at the double rooms which look beautiful and if you stay at the back of the property, I'm sure it would be quiet.

Fiona and Jimmy thought of everything you could or would need on a getaway. Breakfast was the tops! The house was in an easily navigable area. Yes everyone should treat themselves to a stay here.

The hosts were fantastic. There were lots of options for breakfast even for a vegetarian like me. I would highly recommend the veggie haggis! The room was spotless. Nice bed. The location is fantastic if you want somewhere near Edinburgh City centre.

Glenalmond house was ideally located for being close to the city centre.
Jimmy and Fiona were so welcoming and couldn't do more for you. The hotel was spotlessly clean and absolutely perfect. Breakfast was excellent. We cannot fault it and will be back.
There is nothing I'd improve.

Beautiful house. Excellent location. Bus line was easy and convenient. Clean with everything you need. Lounge was great with comfortable furniture, beverages, glasses,ice. Great food!
Busy street but that is not a problem for me. Book early next time to get a different room in back.

Parking on site. Easy to reach the city by bus.
Jimmy the host was very friendly.
We got some packages delivered what we appreciated but that was no issue as well at other places we stayed.
The room is very small. Small bathroom.
Host Fiona was not friendly.
The breakfast was ok but not great.
