The Scholar is a newly refurbished hotel located in the beautiful grounds of the Pollack Estate, just a few minutes’ walk from Arthurs Seat, Holyrood Park and the Meadows and within walking distance of all of the City’s world famous landmarks. The local Southside neighborhood buzzes with small restaurants, bars and an eclectic mix of independent shops. All bedrooms are luxurious and feature large beds, Elite mattresses and quality linen to ensure the best possible night’s sleep. All rooms also include a TV with a whole host of channels, award winning Novus tea and cafetiere coffee and a desk with ample work space. Our large bathrooms include rainfall showers, Arran Aromatics toiletries and fluffy towels. The rooms were spacious. The beds were so comfortable. Even the Fulton bed was so comfortable but was by the window and a bit noisy. Very clean and great service. We had a great stay.
The Fulton bed was next to the window and a bit noisy. You could hear People chatting and traffic passing by at night.

Excellent hotel in a pleasant and calm environment. Professionally run with friendly and efficient staff. Good breakfast and excellent, if limited, menu in the Brasserie and bar.
Limited range of snacks and small plates in the bar could be improved. The lift was out of order when we arrived, which wasn't mentioned at booking or on their confirmation emails.

It was all excellent the only thing I didn't like was the lounge music. Lounge versions of modern songs are awful. This was the only reason I could not eat in your restaurant. I think you'd be better off with some nameless jazz instead.
