The Scholar is a newly refurbished hotel located in the beautiful grounds of the Pollack Estate, just a few minutes’ walk from Arthurs Seat, Holyrood Park and the Meadows and within walking distance of all of the City’s world famous landmarks. The local Southside neighborhood buzzes with small restaurants, bars and an eclectic mix of independent shops. All bedrooms are luxurious and feature large beds, Elite mattresses and quality linen to ensure the best possible night’s sleep. All rooms also include a TV with a whole host of channels, award winning Novus tea and cafetiere coffee and a desk with ample work space. Our large bathrooms include rainfall showers, Arran Aromatics toiletries and fluffy towels. Everything was lovely, the staff, the rooms and the hotel was spotless, this is a return visit. 20 min walk to the Royal Mile. Brilliant selection for breakfast. Will definitely keep returning.

Clean and convenient- breakfast is good
Non of the EV chargers seemed to work except the single Tesla charger which was fortunately free. Took an hour of messing about with an apologetic staff member to get sorted. Single room was minute. You have to remember this hotel was a student accommodation block before it was tarted up for the open market. At 297 for B and B for two nights its expensive.

- Easy to find - plenty of parking around - large room with comfortable beds - nice tea/coffee making facilities - Nice made to order breakfast + buffet - Definitely value for money in comparison to other hotels around Edinburgh - Easy access via Ubers etc to the centre
- The lunch was a bit weak, good options but didnt taste very good, but Id probably imagine you would be eating out anyways so not a massive issue - the breakfast was good though.

I liked the location. Near food, transportation, iconic sites, shopping, all. I loved the quiet of the apartment. It could use a really good mattress. Emergency calls answered promptly. Good service.
I had to call to find the right building after long flights. I had to call to get heat on. Special code needed.

Location a bit far from central - better with rental car, breakfast - had room to improve, pricing - not friendly for solo traveller.

Location is fabulous, including parking, All felt safe and quiet. Staff friendly, polite, and helpful. Room spotless and comfortable, felt very luxurious and well laid out. Huge room and bathroom, top floor. Breakfast delicious and staff helpful and polite. Coffee, toiletries all fabulous, towels and bedding comfortable. The overall feel of the place is lovely, the art, photography and wallpaper, wooden keys and room signs , the design and presentation is gorgeous
Room in the morning was very very warm, nil options to open windows or cooling, I know not a common thing to complain about Scotland being hot, but for future summer stays, will need to consider this.
