Nice big bedroom and huge big comfortable bed, room was very hot so had to close off radiator valves, great size bathroom but decoration looks a bit tiered with water marks etc, reception staff were great and very helpful but bar staff seemed rather inexperienced and very slow, there was on average a 10/15 min wait to be served.

The grounds and location were beautiful, very good value for the price. The room i stayed in was adequate but could do with some tlc as the bathroom was very dated and the mattress was tired and needed replacing. Staff were friendly, and welcoming cleanliness was to a good standard

We stayed a Melville castle as a birthday get away. It’s a lovely castle with lots of character and beautifully renovated. The rooms were clean and the beds were very comfy. The grounds of the castle are great for wonder and it’s only 20 minutes outside Edinburgh.

I loved everything about the hotel. The staff were great. The rooms were excellent and we had dinner in the restaurant, The food was top class. I couldn't find anything wrong with it.
For me, there was nothing to complain about.

We had stayed there before for a Hogmanay celebration and foolishly expected the same this time round. Unfortunately it wasn’t the case.
There was no Hogmanay celebrations organised, nothing apart from a piper, no dancing etc… a guest who had travelled from Europe had some fireworks in his car which they kindly set off.
