The staff went above and beyond to make the stay special. We had gone to celebrate our little boy’s first birthday and the hotel staff couldn’t do enough to spoil him rotten and make him feel special!

Very nice grounds around beautiful main building connected to dining and sitting areas. Staff in dining area very helpful and good service. Old rooms were well maintained with lovly furnishings.
No shuttle to airport. Grounds are remote. Taxi is only option.

Hotel and grounds were beautiful, spa was fantastic, food was the best food we have ever eaten, staff were amazing. Room was very nice and quiet. Everything was excellent.

Very warm comfortable rooms and common space.
Family was big enough for the three of us. Nice with coffee, tea etc in the room and the kids enjoyed the milk and cookies delivered to the room.
The hotel is located in lovely grounds with a nice walk. Also quite ok location to walk 15 mins to catch bus into central Edinburgh.
My son loves planes so great to be on the flight path!

The staff at bar and restaurant could have more training. The food at dinner also took a long time- 40 plus mins which is too long with kids- but once it came it was good

The Spa facilities were lovely.
The way we were treated by the staff and management was disgusting. I travelled with my son and pregnant wife to celebrate their birthdays. The hotel put us in a dog friendly room which caused all 3 of us to have an allergic reaction. When we highlighted this issue to the manager as well the customer services department they completely refused to accept any liability. All they had to say was it wasn’t their fault. The manager’s story did not add up with what customer services were saying. They claimed that no wrongdoing had been done on their part but they were clearly just covering up their mistakes. I tried to reach an amicable solution with the hotel, in house, but because they treated us with the utmost disrespect and refuse to accept any wrong doing, I have now escalated my complaint further with the council and trading standards. I’m genuinely shocked and disappointed that a hotel of such high, so called, calibre treats their customers in such a way. As a cherry on the top, the receptionist also looked at me and my family with disgust upon check in. I’ve been around long enough to know when someone is clearly giving racist vibes. Trust me, I was as shocked as you probably are reading this to receive such treatment from such a reputable hotel group. Avoid them like the plague, especially if you’re of a different race or religion.

Lovely staff, fantastic spa facilities and experiences, amazing breakfast, very serene surroundings, comfortable room.
While the food at the restaurant was really good, the price did take me a little by surprise: a 2-course meal (no starter) with no alcohol for 1 person came to £65, so that's something to keep in mind if you book a dinner there.
