Clean rooms, polite staff
On one morning the bacon for breakfast could bounced back to Birmingham, was so rubbery. But that’s just one thing compared to how good it was…the other 2 mornings it was perfect!!

The closeness to the Western General Edinburgh where I was having an operation. The bed was really comfortable, I was just in a lot of pain to appreciate it ! It was a quiet room and appreciate that there's a lift installed to the different floors. Second time of staying here ,my son is disabled and got a disabled parking space easily .. I thoroughly recommend this hotel. One more thing ,there is a bus stop outside the hotel so you can leave your car and enjoy your day in Edinburgh.
I didn't want to eat much as I had my operation the next morning, but we did go into the restraint and had a chicken wrap and salad . They were tasteless and the salad had too much dressing on it We couldn't finish our meal, very disappointed and felt the meals were too expensive. Not a problem as when I am away I generally go out for the day and having lived in Edinburgh years ago ,am familiar with the bus routes. And my son has taken advantage of the gym and swimming pool .

Very Good
The staff were super friendly and really helpful. It’s also close to public transportation and tourist attractions.
Our bathroom toilet wasn’t flushing really well so that was frustrating.

Fair
Public transport right next to it, room was big clean and comfortable but a bit drab in decor. Beds weren’t that comfortable but nothing to complain about, the leisure facilities were excellent, nice to have a Starbucks in the hotel.
Fire alarm going off at 5.30am due to staff using toaster - breakfast was awful, not worth the money, buffet style and not to my liking but other guests enjoyed it. The reception/sitting area was quite small.

Had a lovely stay! The staff were exceptionally friendly and always ready to help. The room was clean and comfortable. My children and I especially loved spending time in the swimming pool — it was definitely a highlight of our stay.

For a gym goer, having access to a nice gym and swimming pool, sauna and steam room is great.
To be honest, the buffet breakfast is not good at all. The eggs are not fresh they seem to be dehidrated, mixed with water and put on the microwave. No fresh fruits (only a fruit salad that seemed left over), and no variety of things. Also no water available in the breakfast and we got charged for a couple of soda water glasses

Pleasant
It was very clean, spacious, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. It was also a short distance from the centre of Edinburgh as well as the botanical gardens - walkable distance.
The sink plug wouldn’t work so we couldn’t drain the water. I reported the problem through scanning the QR code however the problem wasn’t resolved. The room was also very hot through the night.

Wonderful
We had a lovely stay at the Village Hotel Edinburgh! It’s a great family-friendly hotel with everything you need right on-site. The indoor pool was a big hit with the kids, and having a Starbucks and a pub right in the lobby made it super convenient for grabbing a quick coffee or relaxing in the evening. The hotel is also in a great location—just a short walk to bus stops that took us easily to top sights like Edinburgh Castle, Victoria Street, and the Scottish Monument. The area felt safe and well-connected, which made exploring the city really easy. Overall, I’d definitely recommend this place for families or anyone looking for a comfortable stay with good amenities and easy access to Edinburgh’s best attractions.

Poor
Free parking - good. Breakfast very good. Noisy, people/kids in corridor. I asked for a different room and was given one quickly - very good helpful staff lady. Doors banging noise loud. Some kind of air cond/ plant room noise in second room ALL NIGHT LONG. I hardly slept at all. Shower head was of tropical overhead only type with no other hand held attachment. So you can’t shower without getting hair wet and no shower cap provided. Also no cotton buds, tissues, face cloths provided, so pretty basic. Not the cheapest either. Breakfast excellent - but the background music (pop music) in dining area unnecessary.
