Room was boiling and air con didn’t work. Wasn’t informed it was an interior room nor that building work was going on. Too dark for us but that could be preference. Staff were absolutely lovely. Breakfast ok. Location good.

Every member of staff we met were so nice & friendly. Our room was fabulous, the shower was amazing, as were the towels & toiletries. Everything was quality in my eyes. We had an amazing breakfast, there was plenty of choice to help yourself to and our cooked breakfast arrived hot. The location was great, only a few minutes walk to shops. I would definitely return.
Not a massive problem but like a lot of places these days they prefer card payment at the bar, you can pay cash but they don't hold change, so unless you have the right money, your change turns into their tip!

The bathroom was lovely and the shower was great.
We weren’t told that the building would be covered in scaffolding. We upgraded to a room with what was supposed to be a “large double bed” - it was tiny! I asked reception if we were in the right room and they said it’s a “European King” which apparently is smaller than a UK king. If that’s the case, it shouldn’t be advertised as a large double bed. Also, the mattress had sunk in the middle so I couldn’t lie comfortable on my side facing the middle of the bed.

Good location and nice room. We stayed in the Inner Sanctum suite.
As other reviews have mentioned, the service charges are ridiculous. We went to the bar and sat on the terrace, we waited for a while for somebody to take our order but nobody came over so we had to go up to the bar. It wasn’t busy. When we received our bill, it had a 13.5% service charge which is not justified given the lack of service.
On check out, there was a further service charge added to the cost of our rooms. Our room was not serviced, so again I don’t see how this can be justified. Even if it was serviced, in a supposed 5 star hotel is this not standard practice? Yes, the service charges are optional and you can remove them but the reality is that it puts you on the spot and creates an unnecessarily awkward end to the stay. I don’t mind tipping where credit is due but on this occasion I don’t feel as though it was deserved.
This was our third time staying at Gotham but unfortunately will be the last. The service charges left us feeling as though we’d been ripped off.

This was my second or third time at HG, the decor and style is very attractive, other than the chap who checked us out, the staff were all great, particularly the lady who called the day before my visit and was working when we checked in, late into the evening and was there again at early breakfast. Stayed in an inner sanctum suite which was spacious, great bathroom and dramatic artificial window with changeable cityscapes projected.
Breakfast was good, reasonable choice and decent quality.
At check out there was some confusion over the bill, the chap didn’t know what to do or who to speak to so we had to leave and it was resolved a couple of days later.
Dinner in Honey was ‘ok’. The restaurant was very brightly lit which was uncomfortable and not in keeping with the rest of the hotel. I was served the wrong starter but it was the ‘other one’ of the two I was choosing between so didn’t complain. The main course was ok but really when I go to a restaurant I want something better than I can make myself. The menu generally was pretty uninspiring and after looking at the pudding options we decided to have a stroll to Cinnabon.

We were here for our anniversary and had a brilliant time.
The staff were absolutely fantastic, really welcoming and attentive. The additional extras that were requested were ready in the room on arrival.
The breakfast was absolutely delicious.
The cost of water from room service, we had run out of complimentary water and my partner was feeling ill, we rang down to room service asking for cans or bottles of water. The room service attendant arrived quickly, which is a plus, but 4 bottles of water came to a total of £29. This is beyond excessive.
Our carpet was stained with red wine, the television was not straight on the wall either, and we noticed a tear in our duvet in the morning.
We did have the service charges removed for the inconvenience. However, for the cost and the class of the hotel, we did expect a little more.
Regardless, we would stay again!

Great location and theme. Service was good and bars/breakfast was great quality.
High original cost and service charge added to the final bill without request. You did have the option to remove but this was discussed at check out putting pressure at final bill stage.

i loved how lovely it was and how everything was expected and nothing had to be corrected.
i think people should be informed or have an email sent separate letting them know they have to make a £100 deposit when they get there whit what’s in the room and having whatever is left of the money sent back over, also the prices are very high for things in the room and i think the prices are very out of touch but apart from that everything was amazing
