If you need a hotel room near the Manchester Picadilly train station, Motel One is a good option. You can either turn right out of the station, make a u-turn to the left at the next intersection and walk two blocks or you can walk straight out of the station across a bridge then down some stairs, turn left and then right and walk for a block. Either way, it's a short, easy walk.
The room was a good size and included a chair and stool and small desk in addition to the king-size bed. There were built-in nightstands on either side of the bed with tea and coffee in a cabinet on one side and two places to hang clothes in the room. In fact, it was a marvel for its efficient use of space. The modern black and white bathroom had a shelf above the toilet where you could spread out your toiletries. The room was clean and bright with a city view, but no street noise.
There were two large lounges where you could wait for the 3 p.m. check-in and the friendly staff were happy to hold your luggage. Breakfast could be purchased for 13.50 and eaten in one of the lounges.
Everything was great, if you just need a room. If you need a refrigerator or microwave or kitchen facilities, you will want to choose another hotel.

Small but really clean modern bathroom. Great smelling body wash & handsoap. Really comfy firm beds. The staff were friendly & the lobby is clean, trendy & modern.
The carpet in the bedroom waa an unattractive brown that looked a little worn & dirty.
