The hallway smelled of smoke even though the rooms were marked non smoking. I reported it to the desk clerk, her response was I cant go knock on every door

A veteran of the establishment I knew to expect little in frills but was a bit put off at the lack of ice. No ice for the guests. Bummed a glassful from the local KFC for my nightcap. The place is old and has changed hands multiple times. Gallant efforts have been made to make it more serviceable. Our room included a kitchen, although we neither requested nor used it.
The aforementioned lack of ice and the ten item check list of violations that would get us kicked out, each of which had to be initialed. To say breakfast was bare-boned would be too generous.

Location was excellentfew 100 yds from the beach and restaurants. Apart from a bottle left in the corner of our spacious apartment, it was clean, towels and linen fresh. Staff efficient and helpful, breakfast simple but adequate,

Was there for my 55th high school reunion...other classmates stayed there to.
The only thing upgraded in 50yrs was the mattress and tv, the bathroom was disgusting and cheapest tv channel lineup and reception I've ever seen .

I really loved having a balcony and a full size fridge in my room. It helped me save money to buy groceries and store it.
Some of the closets and drawers were pretty run down, but they were still usable. Quite a few of my outlets didn't work, and the floor didn't seemed vacuumed, but all things that are easy to work around.

The hotel is dirty and needs a renovation now, not some time in the future. Ice is not available, the TV was analog, no cable and the reception was hit and miss. The included breakfast was bare minimum and things like milk, yogurt and orange juice were not refrigerated. The coffee was warm not hot. The bathroom was in poor condition with a very slippery bathtub and undersized bath towels. The room was large but very noisy, you could easily hear conversations in the adjoining rooms. If you were unfortunate to have a room on the opposite side of the hotel from the parking lot the walk to your room would be very long.
The condition of the hotel, the sub-standard breakfast, the dirty carpets in the lobby and hallways, the analog TV, the room noise, the condition of the bathroom and bath towels and the smell of cigarettes in the hallways.

Extremely good value for money when visiting San Francisco.
Website needs to communicate location compared to the bag a bit more accurately and check in staff need to point out that there are no kitchen utensils in the room at all, but that they can be sourced in the community kitchen.

I loved the location. Beautiful waterfront with walking path a block away. Stores & restaurants close by. The bed was comfortable with a nice ceiling fan.
The furniture & tvs were very outdated. It would be nice to have an elevator. The kitchen cupboards looked old.

The kitchen in the room was amazing! The location was also amazing, right next to the beach and a large shopping center. Parking was also free!
Rooms were a little outdated, the parking lot is pretty narrow and beds were not very comfortable.
