I love the design and architecture of the Berkeley City Club. It feels old and secure. The bar and restaurant are excellent and easy to access. The seimming pool is beautiful.

The City Club is a treasure! Such extraordinary beauty has been lovingly preserved at every turn of this lovely old gem...to be able to wander around admiring all of the Art Nouveau finery and detail is a dream! We spent forever by the pool just imagining how it must have been in the roaring twenties , and how lucky we were to still have it today! Truly amazing and delightful!

Breakfast was great! Location was excellent - close by campus of UC Berkeley - made visit to our kids very nice. The hotel is a historic place and all decors are like antiques - very old school and nice. We had a room with the view of Bay and Golden Gate bridges and SF city (top floor).
It's pricy when a lot of parents are visiting UC Berkeley students. Bottled water was offered in room but expensive. They have drinking water in the lobby every day but we missed it late at night.

Its old authentic and amazing, I liked it better then the university that was my actual purpose of the visit. Looks like it could be a place for filming exclusive horror like Suspiria

What an elegant hidden in time charming hotel. The pool made me feel I was swimming in art. Its quiet, no television, simple but gorgeous. Delicious nude (pastry-less) quiches for breakfast.

Great location. Lots of restaurants to walk to close to hotel. We were there to attend a show at the Greek Theater and this hotel was within walking distance which was perfect for us.
I would not say I did not like but the hotel is a historic older place so newer modern items are not included. For us it was part of the charm. No TV but while traveling my husband and I rarely turn one on so did not miss it at all.
