Lodging in San Francisco can be tricky and expensive. I booked this at a very reasonable price. The room is much larger than I expected. It looks recently remodeled, and the craftsmanship of the remodel was excellent actually. The coffee in the room was decent. I looked online to see where there was a good coffee shop. There is one immediately next-door. And that was great! Then I walked across the street to the beach!
When I’m at home, I sleep with the fan on. It was a chilly night and so I had the heater on which made a fan like noise which was fine for me, but some people may not like it.

I liked the fact that the hotel was in a residential area. It had very close access to the western beach shore of San Francisco, which we unfortunately did not take advantage of. It was easy to get through. Traffic improved as we went west and so it was quite simple to get there. The room itself was comfortable. The hallways and a lot of the infrastructure was functional. The shower was excellent. Linens full. The bed was comfortable. There were enough restaurants, nearby, but variety and quality somewhat limited.
It didn’t bother us, but the Judah Avenue light rail line has its turnaround right there in front of the motel, right at the end of Judah, and up against the sand dunes leading to the western ocean. The light rail has relatively limited hours, that is to say, it doesn’t run at night. But it does start early in the morning and goes till, I don’t know, midnight or so. Some rooms in the hotel, not ours, could be impacted by the noise of these electric rail cars. The hallway leading to our room as well as the stairways were pretty narrow. But they worked. The biggest issue I feel I had was the noise factor from other rooms. I think that the place is built out of tissue paper. You can hear everything that happens elsewhere. At 4:42 AM there was lots of noise coming from the hallway, I think, or a bedroom above us, but I’m not sure, and that woke us up. Then come at about 6 AM or, lots of noise coming from upstairs. Heavy feet stomping over uncarpeted hardwood floors. A television set turned on for company. All of this migrating through strongly to our bedroom.
We had room 120 which is in the bottom floor of rooms, but up one flight of stairs. I am handicapped so I have a hard time getting up and down stairs, but I could do it. The higher one goes, the less chance of somebody stomping on the ceiling above me, but the more chance of absorbing noise from the light rail train.
Also, and this is a personal issue I guess: pillows. Why are the pillows not bigger and fluffy. I ran into this issue at another hotel down the peninsula. These were not SO bad. They were soft enough, sort of, but they were so small. So it was kind of hard to get comfortable with them. As I said, though the bed was comfortable.
Oh, and the icemaker didn’t work.
And I have no clue how any of these hotels can have televisions with all of the fancy streaming modes and no clue how to make them work.

The location was good. Staying in San Francisco for a medical appointment. Beds were comfortable. Parking was good. Quiet room was nice.
The stairs were difficult to navigate after just having surgery. No freezer in the fridge. No guide on how to work the television remote controls in the room.

Good location for us. Large room. Very clean. Quiet. (However if there were noisy guests staying it might be a problem as you hear a lot sound from the hallways).
