About
Featuring attractive streets and squares lined with heritage architecture and cozy cafes, Cracow is the second-largest city in Poland. Situated on the scenic River Vistula, this ancient city is a hub for business, culture and learning. The medieval Old Town was among the first sites included on the inaugural UNESCO World Heritage List. The city boasts renowned parks, museums and performing arts venues. There are a number of popular festivals throughout the year as well. With a population just under a million, the city has four distinct seasons. While summer highs average in the mid-70s, winter lows hover below freezing.Getting to and from
Situated approximately 11 kilometers west of the city center, John Paul II International Airport is the second busiest in Poland. It is adjacent to autoroute A4. Along with rental cars and taxis, the commercial airfield is connected to the city by train and bus service. From a platform inside the terminal, the SKA1 suburban line runs to the main railway station in Cracow. Public buses running every 30 minutes link the airport to the main bus terminal and rail station.
